A New VisionChanging the Face of Chronic Pain Management
A Healing Place – The Estates wrote the book that is transforming chronic pain treatment. And we’re ready to help you or your loved one begin a new chapter. The Healing Place and its Triple Diagnosis Chronic Pain Management Program uses as it’s foundation our enhanced Addiction-Free Pain Management® System that combines traditional interventional pain management with over 25 time-tested healing modalities. Our mission is to help people with the “Triple Diagnosis” of chronic pain, psychological disorders (including trauma-related) and substance use problems. Helping alleviate the opioid epidemic in the United States is our top priority.
THREE INDUSTRY TRAILBLAZERS WITH A SHARED MISSION
A Healing Place – The Estates was conceived by three co-founders – industry visionaries with nearly 100 years combined experience – who are perfectly positioned to address the chronic pain and opioid epidemic in the United States. Together we conceived our vision and assembled our multidisciplinary team that has unmatched expertise in the art and science of chronic pain management. We’re definitely not the new kids on the block – We’re paving the way!
John C. Stenzel: Chief Executive Officer John C. Stenzel is an industry forerunner with nearly 40 years in senior management and entrepreneurship roles for physical, occupational, and behavioral global healthcare-related organizations. John is a strategic thinker and visionary known for his ability to build and oversee stellar treatment teams – and facilities.
Joseph A. Cabaret, MD: With 25 years of experience, Dr. Joseph A. Cabaret – Chief Medical Officer – is triple-board certified in Pain Medicine, Addiction Medicine, and Anesthesiology, and is the current President of the California Society of Interventional Pain Specialists.
Stephen F. Grinstead: Dr. AD, LMFT, ACRPS: A 32-year industry veteran, Dr. Grinstead – Chief Clinical Officer – developed and wrote the book on the Addiction-Free Pain Management ® System. What’s more, our comprehensive relapse prevention and intervention program is based on the Relapse Prevention Therapy Workbook that he co-authored with Mr. Terence T. Gorski, an internationally renowned pioneer in addiction treatment and relapse prevention.
OUR FORMULA FOR SUCCESS
We Get It! Unlike other facilities that offer only a biological solution or a psychological / emotional approach, A Healing Place – The Estates offers a fully integrated biological, psychological, social and spiritual treatment program. We have the training and expertise required to meet the complex needs of this unique population.
Dr. Cabaret, always on cutting edge, specializes in traditional (biological) interventional pain management that includes ultrasound & fluoroscopically guided precision injections, neuromodulation techniques, and safe and effective medication management. He is also an expert in stem cell therapies and has access to a first-rate orthopedic and neurosurgical referral network.
Dr. Grinstead and his multidisciplinary team offer traditional and holistic modalities ranging from CBT, DBT, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, Intensive family therapy, equine therapy and functional restorative physical therapy. See the full list under Programs.
It’s Personal: Our customized treatment plans take into account the biological, psychological, social and spiritual factors of each patient and are collaborations between treatment providers and patients. The best possible outcomes are realized when patients play an active role in their own recovery.
Cohort Support: Patients go through treatment phases as unified groups (or cohorts). This “closed model” format optimizes healing and minimizes instances of leaving treatment against medical advice. This unique and effective group process encourages bonding, trust and teamwork. Since everyone starts treatment at the same time, a deeper level of trust is created allowing patients to address core issues and promote the healing process.
Family Matters: For true transformation in pain patients, it’s essential to include families in the healing process. Exploring family systems is a critical component of our program – and a process that can benefit every family member. Everyone’s needs must be addressed. Our intensive family-systems program can be life-altering for both patient and family.
Healing is Ongoing: After patients complete their treatment stay with us their journey is not over— A Healing Place offers Continuing Care Step Down Groups that focus on their specific needs and provide ongoing support as they re-enter family and community life. Patients stay engaged and connected through our Relapse Prevention Continuing Care groups and our Alumni Services. We also coordinate in-person and phone meetings to offer even more support.
The Right Step: A Healing Place provides primary residential (coming soon), full-day treatment with optional transitional living, and evening IOP so that patients can step up or down to the level of care that best suits their needs and is recommended by their medical providers.
